I grew up around Rural County kitchen tables, not boardrooms. I teach in our public schools. I served on our school board. I know what it feels like to stretch a paycheck to the last dollar. I know what it feels like to worry about a sick child. These are not talking points to me. These are the things Tennessee families talk about at the kitchen table every night. They are the things I will carry with me.

I'm not here to hand you a list of promises. I've heard enough empty ones already. What I will do is tell you plainly what I see happening in our state. And I'll tell you what I plan to keep fighting for. No games. No big words. Just the truth, the way we'd say it at the table.
